Traditional Reflexology

What is traditional reflexology:

A complementary therapy that uses the touch of the hands, applied to the feet, to treat the mind, body and emotions.

When a person is happy and healthy all their organs, systems and structures are working together in perfect harmony. However, when a person is unhappy or unwell their energy passing through those organs, systems and structures goes out of balance or becomes blocked.

There are reflex points on the feet which interact with specific organs, systems and structures within the body. By working these reflex points imbalance or blockages can be detected and cleared. This encourages healing, and a return to balance and harmony, in a safe and natural way.

What are the benefits:

Many people find reflexology helps them to relax and unwind. Relaxation helps to reduce stress which can lead to improved sleep, mood and energy levels, along with a greater sense of wellbeing. Reflexology may also help with:

  • Stress

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Headaches / Migraines

  • Skin tone & texture

  • Circulation

  • Back pain

  • Sciatic pain

  • Indigestion

  • IBS

  • Constipation

  • PMS

  • Irregular or painful menstruation cycles

  • Menopause

  • Fertility

Please note: Reflexology is a complementary therapy and should not be used as an alternative to seeking medical advice. Reflexology does not diagnose or cure any specific conditions.

What to expect:

The treatment takes about an hour.

Your initial treatment will take a little longer because it includes a free health and lifestyle consultation. This allows me to tailor the treatment to suit your needs. Please be assured, all information is treated confidentially.

Before the treatment, simply take off your shoes and socks and lie back fully clothed on a reflexology chair or couch. I start by warming up your feet with massage, before applying specific pressure techniques to the reflex points on your feet.

Next it's up to you, some people enjoy talking while others like to drift off to sleep!

Reflexology is usually a relaxing and calming experience, however there may be areas that are more sensitive. This is an indication of where there may be an imbalance. Don’t let ticklish feet put you off, the pressure applied is firm enough to avoid this.
